Aretha Miller is the founder and president of The Venn Group, Inc. Ms. Miller is a veteran educator who has expertise in leadership coaching, school evaluation & accountability, school improvement planning, and workshop design & facilitation. Aretha has worked collaboratively with school leaders, charter authorizers, districts, and state education department administrators to improve student achievement and the organizational viability of both charter and traditional public schools. Prior to launching her independent educational consulting firm, Aretha was the Vice President of School Supports at the New York City Charter School Center where she also served as the interim Chief Operations Officer. Prior to joining the Charter Center’s team, Aretha was a project manager atSchoolWorks; the curriculum coordinator for the Diploma Plus initiative—a nationally recognized alternative education model designed to re-engage at-risk and out-of-school youth to the learning process, at the Commonwealth Corporation’s Center for Youth Development and Education; and, a special education teacher and literacy specialist in Boston Public Schools. Aretha graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. She holds a Masters in Special Education from Lesley College.
